Camping

Camping is included in the ticket price, which includes a space for one tent on site. Camping is highly encouraged (and most people do it). Leaving the festival by car will be monitored to ensure everyone’s safety. If you’re planning on driving home, please be smart. Feel free to set up camp in one of our wooded sites (Funk E Forest, Horizon Hollow, Poseidon’s Palace) or on the main field (Dome Field).

Our staff will direct you to a designated parking space nearby your tent upon arrival. Domefest parking staff and volunteers are trained to park your vehicle as conveniently as possible while maintaining safety as our #1 priority – trust that we have everyone’s best interests and safety at heart. Learn more in the parking section below.

Please bring your own camping gear, including: tents, ground tarps, sleeping bags, pillows, flashlights, etc. If you forget anything, our Domefest General Store should have you covered (located in the back of the concert field with our craft vendors). Please do not bring excessive camping gear and respect your neighbors’ space. Campers will have access to port-o-potties all day/night. The general store will have bottled water and ice for sale and there will be an ATM on-site.

Please assist our waste management team Zero Waste Event Productions (ZWEP) and discard all materials in the proper bins, bring only what you need for the weekend, choose bulk and reusable items over disposables, and pick up after yourself when you are packing up your campsite. Smokers can swing by ZWEP’s on-site sorting station near the main gate to receive a free pocket ashtray to keep butts off the ground and contribute to a cleaner festival.

We ask that all campers clean their personal site and be off the property by Sunday at 2pm.

Can I bring a dome?

If you mean your head, by all means. If you mean a geodesic dome, then no 🙁

The event is sold out but I forgot to snag a ticket, what can I do?

Grab your tickets earlier next year! Domefest 2018 is sold out. There will be NO tickets at the gate for the duration of the festival. Anyone who arrives without an advance ticket will be greeted with a smile, and then turned away. Thanks for your support.

Will there be any day passes available at the gate, such as Saturday-only?

No, there will be NO tickets at the gate for the duration of the festival. Anyone who arrives without an advance ticket will be greeted with a smile, and then turned away.

When is the earliest I can arrive?

All ticket holders are welcome to arrive at the main gate on Thursday at 1 ET . For the love of Dome, please do NOT arrive before 1pm as you will be turned away. We want to make sure everything is set up juuust right for everyone and need to stick to this schedule.

I heard only early bird ticket holders can arrive when gates open on Thursday at 1pm. Is this true?

No, that is not true. ALL ticket holders are welcome to arrive when the main gate opens on Thursday at 1pm. Please spread the good word, bird!

There are no personal fires allowed, but what about charcoal grills, propane grills, or portable raised fire pits?

No fire pits of any kind. Charcoal or propane grills are acceptable. We’re sorry for any inconvenience, but safety is always our #1 priority. NOTE: There are tasty food vendors with vegan/vegetarian options on-site, as well as ice, sold at our General Store in the concert field.

My car is 20′ 6″ long, can I park at Domefest?

Is it longer than 20′? Then no.

I require an RV (it means the world to me), what should I do?

First off, we apologize for the inconvenience. We wish we could fit everyone’s RV on site, but it’s not in the cards this year. However, we spoke to a campground 5 miles down the road (5 minute drive) called The Old Saw Mill Campground, and they’d be happy to park your vehicle there. They have hookups and access to water (for a fee), or you can simply park there (for a smaller fee). Please reach out to Chris at (814) 623-7846 and let him know when you plan to arrive. PLEASE NOTE: There is no Uber/Lyft in the area.

Why do most people type “Dome Fest” when it clearly says “Domefest” on literally everything?

The world may never know…

Am I able to leave and return during the festival?

Yes. We strongly prefer that everyone stays for the weekend for safety reasons (and most do!), but we understand that life exists outside of Domefest. If you know you have to leave during the festival, you MUST tell our main gate and parking staff upon arrival. They will direct you to park in one of our “day lots,” which will ensure your safest and easiest departure. If you do not tell our staff upon arrival (and park in the woods or Dome Field), you should expect to stay until Sunday, barring emergencies.

Can I camp next to my car?

Car camping is not guaranteed, but rest assured, our parking staff will do everything we can to park your vehicle as close to your campsite as possible, while maintaining everyone’s safety as our first priority. When you arrive, please tell our main gate and parking staff if you plan to stay the entire weekend (most do) – this is your best bet for car camping. If you need to leave at any point during the festival, please inform us upon arrival – you will park in one of our day lots for safest departure and should anticipate a 5-15 minute walk to camping areas.

Can I camp IN my car?

Gopher it!!

Where is the nearest gas station or Walmart?

There is a gas station within 3 minutes of the festival on Bedford Valley Road (among others). There are Walmart’s within 20 minutes of the festival on either side. Google can tell you more.

How much wood can a woodchuck chuck if a woodchuck could chuck wood?

Google can tell you more.

How big are the campsites? Can I bring a pop-up?

Since we are expecting a sellout, campsites should be kept to a comfortable minimum. Pop-ups might be able to fit in some spots, but not all. If possible, please refrain from bringing excess camping gear. Note that woods camping provide tons of shade. Let’s all work together to be comfortable – Please be respectful to your neighbors and listen to our parking staff who work diligently to make sure EVERYONE is camped comfortably and safely.

My friends want to camp together, is this possible?

You all need to pull into the festival at the exact same time to make this happen. Nothing is guaranteed, but we will do our best to accommodate your wishes. Caravan party!

What’s your policy on twerking during Pigeons’ set?

No harm, no fowl.
